Developed in conjunction with the exhibition, Radical Craft: Arts Education at Hull-House, 1889–1935, the catalog features rich visuals and essays that provide deep and lively engagement with the history of arts education at the Hull-House Settlement and is first of its kind in the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum’s history. Contributors include the museum’s educators and curators Katie Akerboom, Ross Stanton Jordan, Nadia Maragha, Matthew Randle-Bent, and Liesl Olson; artist Faheem Majeed; and scholars Fiona Maxwell and Annie V.F. Storr.
The catalog—designed by Mollie Edgar and Tobey Albright of Hour studio—serves as a testament to Hull-House co-founder Ellen Gates Starr’s commitment to books as works of art. The catalog can be found at Hull-House Books for a solidarity price of $18. It is also available accompanied by a special edition textile from The Weaving Mill featuring a quote by Starr for $95.
